Thunderhawk is Michigan's first suspended looping roller coaster and will be open to the public in May 2008 at Michigan's Adventure Amusement Park in Muskegon, Michigan.
- The public is now able to bid to be one of 40 VIP riders to take the inaugural ride on Thunderhawk on Wednesday May 14, 2008!
- Bidding closes at noon on May 7, 2008.
- All of the proceeds from the auction will go to the American Red Cross serving Muskegon, Oceana and Newaygo Counties.
- Not only will the 40 top bidders get the first ride, they will get a T-shirt, continental breakfast the day of, admission to the park on May 14, 2008 (the waterpark will be closed), PLUS one admission ticket to return to the park any day during the 2008 season.
New for 2008 - Thunderhawk, The first suspended looping coaster in Michigan will climb 105 feet in the air with an exhilarating 86-foot drop. Riders will soar through the air with their feet dangling below them along a winding course that will feature five inversions and a top speed of 50 mph!
Michigan's Adventure Amusement Park and WildWater Adventure Waterpark offer guests thrills and chills for all ages. Michigan's largest amusement park and waterpark offers over 60 rides and attractions, including Shivering Timbers, their world class roller coaster that has consistently ranked as one of the top wood roller coasters in the world. How the bid process works:
- Visit the auction site by clicking the 'Place a Bid' link above.
- Click 'Register' to register for the auction. Registration is required in order to bid.
- Enter the requested registration information. Be sure to include a working phone number.
- A representative from the American Red Cross will contact you by phone to verify that you are interested in bidding, and to collect additional information.
- Once the representative has determined that you are a legitimate bidder, you will be given the password to your account for the auction site.
- Using your user name and password, you may begin placing bids.
- You should only need to go through the verification process upon initial registration, and are free to place bids as often as you'd like through the end of the auction.
- Upon completion of the auction, the 40 winners will be notified and given additional information regarding the event proceedings.
